1997 San Diego Curfew Protests |
 |
(7/25/97) Saturday night's rally featured the band Rebel Rebel from Los Angeles. Dressed like an opening band for KISS, they wanted to support the rally more than they wanted to play music. In between songs, the lead singer used his microphone as a megaphone to encourage the protesters to continue the fight. And it will be a fight. Many rallies in history have lasted months. We will rally until fundamental Constitutional rights are returned to all citizens.
(7/19/97) Friday night's rally was a complete success. We wrapped ourselves in chicken wire to visually show that the curfew is not a bedtime, it is a nightly prison sentence. We had over 50 people at the rally throughout the night. People, who were twice as old as the law's victims, came out to support our fight for freedom.
